The new Honda Aviator is not the best among the Honda scooters. It is intended to cater to the urban man and promises to be an easy ride in traffic snarls. The affordable price of the scooter is certainly appealing. The Aviator is fourth scooter launched by Honda that had previously launched Dio, Eterno and Activa. Honda Activa gained lot of popularity and commercial success. The bike though has a stiff competition from Access and Flyte. The Aviator’s design is quite primitive and only time will tell how the consumer will approach and accept this vehicle.
Looks
The design and styling of the Honda Aviator is unique compared to Honda Activa but not very appealing. The indicators are big and are divided by a V-shape stripe and it is eye-catching. The headlamps are another highlight of the scooter and tyres are larger in contrast to other scooters. The tail end has pre-dominant wraparound turn indicators. The instrument panel is triangular in shape and has large speedometer and fuel gauge. But the warning indicators are hard to spot in bright sunlight. The Aviator is poor in terms of style and it does not have quadra/penta lock features. The scooter can boast of greater under seat space when compared to Activa. And the Aviator also lacks a mobile charging socket and a glove box, which have become a norm with other brands!
Engine
Honda Aviator scooter is powered by air-cooling, 102cc, 4-stroke and a single cylinder engine, which is same as the Honda Activa that produces a power of 7bhp at 7000 rpm. The initiation of the vehicle is good and engine enables a smooth and an easy ride. Aviator can touch a speed of 70kmph without any vibration and jarring sound. But the scooter requires more pick-up than the speed per se.
Handling
Aviator has seats that are comfortable for a perfect ride. The wheelbase is larger and the height of the scooter helps the tall rider. As all the Honda vehicles Aviator too is fuel-efficient and gives a mileage of around 40kmpl and serves greatly for city riding. The ABS plastic panels reduce the weight of the scooter. The suspension is facilitated by telescopic fork that helps to lower the impact of vibration on bad roads and thus the ride does not exhaust you.
The vibration is shifted via the handle bar and the rear grab rail is very low and for this you have to give full marks to the engineering team of Honda. The Aviator with disc brake manages the scooter quite well and you can vroom through the signals with ease. The levers can be smoothly operated. With negative indication of the bike sales the scooter segment is certainly going to gain foot in the two-wheeler market. Thus, the competition will expand largely and you have to wait to and watch how Aviator will survive this stiff competition.
Price
Honda Aviator is priced at Rs 40,000 and is available in the following colors: Rebel Red Metallic, Berry Purple Metallic, Space Silver Metallic and Pearl Igneous Black.
All said and done; bikes will continue to being the favourite 2 wheelers among men, and Honda Aviator scooter with not-that-great features will struggle to sustain in the bikes dominated Indian automobile market.

I dont know when this article has been penned because the cost of Aviator is higher than Activa and in Mumbai the on road price is almost 55000, i dont know from wher you have got the price of 40000.

Honda Aviator is stupid vehicle which i was bought in aug ’09,which cost is not equal,better buy some thing else,better go for Bajaj,Aviator giving 35 KM Per lt.Very poor service,at free service they only wash and they do nothing,infact my handle cover broken when i am driving,this i asked honda service,they asked me buy cover at 550/-,this happend just last week ,Please dont go for aviator /activa honda,they will loot money by providing spares and acessories etc.They say its 4 free services,they dont even provide lubication oil for money.

Yes Yes i accept goutham statement, even me too had problems with aviator from honda,there are jerks when i raise axelarator,they change filter on every service,lot of vibrations suring driving.Spares are too costly,My dad said not go avaitor,now i understand how waste it is…

Those who are critisizing the Aviator, they probably don’t know how to ride and maintain a bike. Honda Aviator is anytime better than any other bike or scooter in the same power range. I own one since one and a half year and not once has it ditched me by any means. I can start for my duty just 10 minutes before i need to reach and i reach with 3 minutes in hand. Talk about power, i can race and even defeat bikes with 135 cc engines. I recommend Aviator. It has to be the best scooter ever manufactured.
the one touch start is actually not comfartable, have to press the rear brakes fully then press the igntion and then the accelerator.

I just got it today for 59.5k and the indicator is not working after mt drive home. Its more than too delicate.
Pick up is good. Ride is smooth. But u cant see the essenti buttons like the indicator etc at night as there is no background light. Guys if u can wait for activa (90 days) do waitz. If in a hurry
the person who do not know to ride or maintain a bike decently cannot identify the true beauty of a bike..everything they ride luks crap to them..as a result they cant appreciate what the bike provide to them..i my self ride AVIATOR..n its one of the best bike..even my motorcycle riding friends appreiciate it whenever they hv chance on it..perfect weight n footprint..bit high but no issues..gud 4 me..and awesome eye-catching design..speed upto 60-70kmps…no vibrations below dat

i don’t agree with u , it is wrost bike ,i ride it for a year and got many problems , at high speeds braking is not at all good, every time i should tight the brake screw 4r every 4 days,and wrost pickup , i threw this bike aside and bought tvs wego now , this one is 200% better than it ,
pickup—–great no vibrations even u go above 70 breaking is good even at high speeds even with pillion rider ,and a bike like experience.
I agree with you on one point that
Aviator drum brakes are not at all effective at high speeds and when you are with a pillon rider it creates nightmare, but disc brakes are effective.
One important point to note is that Honda has designed this scooter with disc brakes , but for cost and competetive reasons they have also launched drum brake version in which braking is very dangerous issue
If you are going for aviator pl go for disc brakes, the scooter is awesome.

honda aviator service in service centres is not up to mark. each part is not foccused properly and service rate is quite high.low attention and considration on services

I sent my Honda aviator scooter for service and I was asked to pay a service Charge for servicing my Scooter By JSP honda, Anna Nagar, Chennai. The bill amount is Rs 2664, and when I preferred the Card Payment they added 2 percent as service Tax.
Please advice if all the payments made by credit Card are to pay extra 2 percent and is it approved by the Honda/ JSP

Honda Aviator is the best scooter between the other scooters.My brother learned me how to drive it in just 2 days and by learning it I feel very pleasure and happy.When I drive it I think that I am a hero.I hope that in future if I will earn much money then I will must buy an Honda Aviator.
